Google can store our search information like map location, video, voice, audio input or any data ever we have searched in Google. These helps us in future.
Your Activity controls settings give you control over the information that's saved to your Google Account. When these settings are on, Google may store and use this information whenever you’re signed in to a Google product on any device.
By default, Google keeps a detailed history of your interaction with its search engine and other services when you are logged in to your Google Account. For example, if Google has access to your device’s location settings for mapping and search suggestions, it stores your location history, which is displayed on a map you can see when you are logged into your account.
You're in control of your Google Account settings, and you can change them at any time.
Your searches and browsing activity:This control saves your all search activity and browsing data which helps you to search later in any Google product.
Places you go:This helps you to search map location by saving your past locations.
Your voice searches and commands:This improves speech and audio recognition by saving your voice and audio inputs.
Videos you search for on YouTube:This saves searches on YouTube.
Videos you watch on YouTube:Saves a list of the videos you've watched recently on YouTube. This makes it easier to find those videos again quickly.
Information from your devices:Saves information like your contacts, calendars, apps, and device data. This information helps improve the accuracy and relevance of results and suggestions.
How to change your activity controls?
Visit the Activity controls page.
Choose the setting you want to update and switch it to on (green) or off (grey).
How to delete your history?
Visit the Activity controls page.
Choose the setting you want to update, and click Manage history.
From here, you can see any history that's been saved and delete it.
If you're using Google on a phone or tablet, there may be additional settings you can turn on or off.
When you are not signed-in, some information about your Google activity is stored in a cookie or similar technology on your device. This helps Google services work better for you. For example, we use this data to improve your search results. Here you can adjust the privacy settings that impact your experience on this device.
