In Java language, when we declare a variable, data type is needed.

For example, float x=12.5

Here, memory of 4 bytes allocated first, then variable x assigned to that memory and value 12.5 stored in the memory. 

In Python, x=12.5 means first 12.5 object is created and then variable x is labelled to the x.

Python uses reference counting to free objects as soon as they have no references. This means most of the time everything is cleaned up by reference counting and GC never kicks in. There is also usually no need to tune various GC parameters as in Java.

The ServletConfig parameters are specified for a particular servlet and are unknown to other servlets. It is used for intializing purposes.

The ServletContext parameters are specified for an entire application outside of any particular servlet and are available to all the servlets within that application. It is application scoped and thus globally accessible across the pages.

No. of Object:

There is one ServletConfig parameter per servlet.

There is one ServletContext for the entire webapp and all the servlets in a webapp share it.

When created?

Object of ServletConfig will be created during initialization process of the servlet.

Object of ServletContext will be created at the time of web application deployment.

Scope:

As long as a servlet is executing, ServletConfig object will be available, it will be destroyed once the servlet execution is completed.

As long as web application is executing, ServletContext object will be available, and it will be destroyed once the application is removed from the server.

Availabiltity:

We should give request explicitly, in order to create ServletConfig object for the first time.

Two types of constructors in Java

2. parameterized constructor

Copy constructor is a parameterized constructor and Copy Constructor is used to create an exact copy of an object with the same values of an existing object.

If you want to make a copy of an object while instantiating, then a copy constructor is used to achieve this. If you pass objects as function argument, it is passed as value, but since it’s a copy of reference it’s actually pointing to the same memory and thus it becomes call by reference.

Apache Tomcat is an open-source Web server tool developed which allows to the implementation Java Servlets and JavaServer Pages (JSP) or in other words, it is a web container that allows or used to run Java applications.

Why we need Apache Tomcat?

In CGI (Common Gate Interface) when request comes from client to the server, then new process created every time for each request. Which decreases performance and it is very time consuming.

To resolve this problem Apache tomcat server comes into the existence. Which creates new thread instance of new process during every request. This consume very less time and increases performance level.

Function:

Tomcat acts or behaves as a development server on your desktop to use for testing when building applications that use JSF 2, servlets/JSP, or other Java-based dynamic Web technologies.

Basically, it implements the Java Servlet and the Java Server Pages (JSP) specifications from Sun Microsystem, and provides a "pure Java" HTTP web server environment for Java code to run in.

Apache Tomcat includes tools for configuration and management, but can also be configured by editing XML configuration files.

Following are the steps to configure Tomcat in Eclipse:

1. Install Java. Make sure you have Java 7 or Java 6 installed.

2. Unzip Tomcat. Unzip tomcat-7.0.34-preconfigured.zip. (If possible download the latest version of Apache Tomcat)

3. Download Eclipse 4.4 (Luna). Install Eclipse 4.4 (Luna).

4. Tell Eclipse about Tomcat. Start Eclipse and go to the Workbench. Click on Servers tab at bottom. R-click>New>Server>Apache>Tomcat v7.0, navigate to Tomcat installation folder (e.g., C:\apache-tomcat-7.0.34), OK.

5. Test the server. Test Tomcat within Eclipse.

6. Adjust Eclipse preferences. Point at your JDK: Window, Preferences, Java, Installed JREs, make sure a JDK (not JRE) is selected. If not, click Add and point at the install location of your JDK. Suppress unnecessary warnings about serialized classes: Window, Preferences, Java, Compiler, Errors /Warnings, change "Serializable class without ..." to "Ignore". Many other personal preferences re font size, indentation style, etc.

Indeed, for some programming languages, there is little performance difference between an interpretive- or compiled-based approach to their implementation.

Why is a interpreted language considered faster than a compiled language?

Compiler converts source code into the machine code then execute the code.

When do use compiler and do use interpreter?

Swing is a set of program component s for Java programmers that provide the ability to create graphical user interface ( GUI ) components, such as buttons and scroll bars, that are independent of the windowing system for specific operating system . Swing components are used with the Java Foundation Classes ( JFC ).

Swing offers two key features:

Swing components depend less on the target platform and use less of the native GUI resource. Hence the Swing components that don't rely on native GUI are referred to as lightweight components. Swing components are lightweight and don't rely on peers. Swing supports a pluggable look and feel. The three PLAFs available to all users are Metal (default), Windows, and Motif. It provides more powerful and flexible GUI components than those of AWT.
