Improved battery technology has brought us better capacity.

As per Report, Apple has teamed up with a South Korean company to make the batteries for its self-driving, electric car project, according to a report by South Korean technology news website.
As MacRumors points out, it's possible the batteries are made by Korean Company Orange Power, which has a patent application for a hollow-type rechargeable battery.
Apple isn't the only company looking to re-think battery design to advance its electric cars. Start-up Faraday Future is arranging its batteries in rows, or as the company calls it, "strings" so it's easy to change the battery capacity by adding or removing the strings.
