Python is used within other applications to allow users to write custom macro’s. Applications like Poser and Poser Pro , for example, are applications that can turn various models into rendered images and uses Python as scripting engine to automate various tasks.
There are lots of examples of Python Applications:
Web Application
Example: PythonWikiEngines, Pocoo, PythonBlogSoftware etc.
Audio or Video based Applications
Example : TimPlayer, cplay etc.
3D CAD Applications
Example: Fandango
Enterprise Applications
Example: OpenErp, Tryton, Picalo etc.
Reddit, which was originally written in Common Lips, was rewritten in Python in 2005. Python also contributed in a large part to functionality in YouTube.
Applications for Images
Example: VPython, Gogh, imgSeek etc.
