When invented Python?

Python was conceived in the late 1980s, and its implementation began in December 1989 by Guido van Rossum at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in the Netherlands as a successor to the ABC language (itself inspired by SETL) capable of exception handling and interfacing with the Amoeba operating system.

Why name python given?

Guido is a bit of a Monty Python fan, and happened to be reading the scripts of the TV series "Monty Python's Flying Circus" back in '89 when he began working on the language. He thought the name would be "short, unique, and slightly mysterious." so he decided to call the language Python.
